When you think your colleague is a complete idiot...

When you think a colleague has done something stupid, before indulging in hasty and definitive judgments, ask yourself three questions:

1. What generated the incident that prompts you to make such a sharp verdict?
2. How would I feel if I were in his/her shoes?
3. Would I have done better under the same conditions?

I am sure that, after answering the three questions, your view of things would be less sharp and, probably, your appraisal less severe.
