Within an organization, people with a strong need for personal achievement want to reach professional excellence, seek challenging objectives and work harder when they expect exclusively personal acknowledgements for the effort they put in, ignoring the work done by other people. In time, these people may remain isolated and also tend to develop the need for personal power. It differs from the need for social achievement.
