Performance is a behaviour aimed at obtaining the outomes desired by the organization. Achievement can depend on other subjects and variables too. Self-evaluation (Core self-evaluations (CSE)) has a significant impact on the quality of performance. It is a long-lasting personality trait characterized by four dimensions: the belief that we can control or at least significantly influence events affecting us (locus of control); the tendency to react negatively to events, displaying anxiety, stress, emotional instability and the need for help (neutoricism); the belief that we can handle a number of different situations successfully (self-efficacy); self-esteem, i.e. awareness of our own worth (self-esteem).
