Distance learning

Distance learning is becoming more and more important because it meets the critical training needs of organisations.

Why?

The design of training and coaching programmes meets severe constraints:

• The need for companies and organisations to ensure the coverage of key roles;
• The search for efficiency in training investments;
• The effectiveness of training programmes in the specific organisational context, which increasingly requires co-design skills;
• The need for tools and technologies able to accompany training efficiently.

Distance learning (FAD) helps to overcome these constraints and has several advantages:

• It does not require a physical location and does not present logistic constraints;
• It is compatible with smart-working;
• It makes it easier to match training plans and key role coverage;
• It requires lower investments;
• Allows participants to stay connected to the teacher regularly;
• Facilitates the distribution of teaching materials and the communication between participants, even when located in
• different locations and different countries;
• It enables the participation by people in smart-working or people who, for various reasons, are temporarily unable to go to work.

We are also aware that distance learning can have some drawbacks:

• It makes the empathic teacher-participant interaction, typical of classroom training, more complex;
• It can represent a barrier for people less used to technological solutions.

Our distance learning solutions take into account the different factors involved when designing and selecting the tools to be employed:

Below are the tools that we use regularly:

• a software solution for the distribution of e-learning courses (Learning Management System, LMS) that is easy to use and capable of generating detailed reports;
• a catalogue of e-learning courses capable of:
  • support the development of key competences;
  • provide the basis for further strengthening in classroom sessions or videoconferencing;
  • allow the participant to study individually, without the presence of the teacher and the other participants.
• videoconferencing tools that will enable managing distance learning sessions effectively:
  • participation tracking;
  • communicate effectively, in audio and video;
  • share multimedia content;
  • create groups among participants, manage exercises and role-plays;
• discussion groups that provide several advantages:
  • Count on the assistance of the teacher during the study;
  • Discuss specific topics with the teacher and other participants;
  • to deal with aspects related to individual experiences;
  • maintain a uniform view of the issues covered;
  • access to content quickly.
